Many of the Fairfield County Hazardous Incident Response Team members are also Fire Service Instructors at the Fairfield Regional Fire School. The school was contracted to instruct the students in Awareness and Operational level hazmat responses both with lecture and practical skills for the completion of their FF I course curriculum. August sixth was the last and final day for the students at the Redding Fire Department. The twenty plus student body represented fire departments from Ridgefield, Redding, Georgetown and Bethel. This was another great example of the working relationship between the Fairfield Regional Fire School and the FCHIRT members. Special thanks to the instructors Chief Tracy, Capt. Coppola, Lt. Cronin, Lt. Sherwood, and DFM Mate.
